Design Evolution

Our emerging Illustrative Masterplan seeks to take account of all these constraints and opportunities, to deliver a new neighbourhood which is sustainable and inclusive.

Our proposals have been developed over the past 12 months or so, taking our starting point as the key constraints and opportunities effecting the site. These include:

Constraints

​​​

  • Listed buildings.

  • Amenity of existing dwellings closeby.

  • Existing landscape and ecological assets such as tree and hedgerows.

  • Public footpaths.

  • Localised areas of flood risk.

Opportunities

​

  • Views south from the northern slopes.

  • Existing lanes and public rights of way present opportunities for improved connectivity.

  • Large site capable of accommodating significant open space for public benefit as well as new homes and infrastructure.

  • Ecological enhancement opportunities through the creation of new and enhanced habitats.
